04 Grand Cherokee Limited, low oil pressure, periodically when warm
I just developed this issue following an oil and filter change. Went to Valvoline Rapid Oil Change. The vehicle was smoking when I got home from oil spilled on the exhaust. Two days later got the check gauges light saw no oil pressure. Pressure returned and went low again off and on since. At times the pressure is normal even after the engine is warm. No engine noise or performance issues. I have the 4.7 N type engine

What filter did they use? Some low-quality filters will cause problems with oil pressure. Fram is infamous for it.
It's also quite possible that someone jostled the wire to the sending unit, and it's flaking out. Or the sender itself is intermittent. It's really a good idea to verify your pressure readings with a manual gauge. I picked up a Bosch at PepBoys for under twenty bucks. It just takes a few minutes to remove the electronic pressure sending unit and plumb in the manual gauge. It's also very easy to run the tube up to the cowling and have the manual gauge sitting outside your windshield so you can see it as you drive. Duct tape, baby!
Yeah, it looks redneck, but it will allow you to see what your oil pressure is really doing over the course of a few days.

Thanks for the reply. I have a new sender and will check into the Bosch tool. Everything was just fine prior to the oil change, I just want to be sure, it has over a 150 k but still in good shape or at least I hope.
