i got an 04 GC 4.0. only has 45K miles on it.
recently it has been "losing" power sitting as i dont drive it as often in the summer time. now normally it would be the battery from not driving it but its not that.
the first time i saw it happen, the guages went all crazy and wouldnt fire up. so after flicking on and off the headlights a couple times i finally got it to turn over. all it did was click like it was dead. it turned over finally and drove fine.
the other day i got in it and my trip meter was back at 0 and my radio was on AM.
last night same thing happened. 0 on trip meter and AM on the radio. all my programmed stations are still there for FM though.
what i have checked.
i checked number 12 fuse, and all fuses under dash and in engine. i swapped the relay for the fuel pump with the one for the wipers. i check the wiring along the struts for worn wires. nothing.
the only other thing i can think of is the ignition mod. but why would that cause the power to go out? could the fuel pump be the problem? i'm at a lose here, i did reading online and everything other people came up with is all good.
i also heard it could be a ground wire behind the dash. but i didnt want to do that less i had to. i hate messing with dashboards.

any help would be appreciated.
