well i got the part in finally it was delayed by 10 days but since then have not had any time to do anything.

odd thing now all the windows work except the drivers side which was the one that always worked.

i guess if the switch is bad then this replacement will fix it, if not then there's another issue with the wiring somewhere.

over all i think the jeeps been pretty good for me.

I have been told the dimmer switch on these is a usual suspect for lots of things having gone wrong electrically. There is an important ground - under there somewhere - from that switch I believe too? The dimmer switch can be replaced, or re-solder the connections on it.

the light switch was replaced already.

the auto delay relay is bad though i can hear it click but i can't find it under the dash but its becasue i have a hard time getting down there to check it.

if don't disconnect the battery my headlights turn on and off by themselves while the vehicle is parked. it will turn on for like 30 seconds or so then turn off and repeat it might be a few minutes in between or hours.

The '96 and up auto headlamps are controlled by the BCM, using the input from the auto headlamp sensor. If it's turning on the parking lights, then the inputs are probably working fine. There's a relay for the parking lights and a relay for the headlamps (the headlamp switch powers the headlamps directly). Switching out the one relay might prevent your headlights from turning on by themselves.. to see?

There is a module for them too, right? The Auto Headlight Sentinel Module. It could cause headlight issues maybe like you describe..

(If you have auto headlamps)

its supposed to be some relay under the drivers side i can hear it clicking which i guess is a clue the relay is bad. but i've not been able to find it.

what happens is when the vehicle is sitting there and I don't know if its only when its dark or during the day too, but the headlights will just come on and stay on about right around 30 seconds then they will turn off, this will repeat but with no set pattern of minutes.

it might happen a few minutes later or take many minutes, hours or not happen again but it can happen often enough to have a drained battery in the morning, never yet that it wouldn't have started but once or twice where ti appear the battery was very weak and barley manage to have enough power to get the vehicle started.

but right now since its not a daily driver i disconnect the battery when not being used.

i've been so busy with either work, doing stuff, sick, visiting my mother, that my poor jeep has paid the price its been down for the last 3 or 4 months, i'd have to check when i picked up a load of laser discs last, as thats when the caliper froze and i replaced them but ran out of time to bleed the system so its sitting there waiting for the bleeding.
