so crawled under the car couldnt see anything loose from the bell housing. felt around up top and couldnt find anything. the circled item is still a mystery because i cant find anything loose that would fit it either. my chilton guide is useless with diagrams for my truck..really close to doing the "beat it til it works approach! really bummed, i wanted to turn her over and hear what she sounds like with the new exhaust manifold.

wish i was there so i could find it... the plug should be coming with all the other plugs from the main harness... the main harness being the ones with the injector wires and throttle body wires... should be coming right off of that... didnt cut the thing off did ya? lol

So Ive hit a brick wall. followed the sensor from the bell housing and it' son the passenger side of the engine.I'm beginning to think the previous owner didn't take such "good" care of the truck. She still wont turn over.

did you check N/P relay for transmission? or shifter positions? once a friend of mine has a shifted shifter? positions were shifted actually. before adjusting it,engine can not be started in P but was starting in D.

also crank position sensor casue such problems on cars.

I wouldnt have thought the CPS can get over to the pass side unless someone made up some wiring to stretch the harness over there. My CPS plugs in toward the rear of the valve cover, basically above injectors #5 & 6.

Need to get that IAT connector found and plugged back in. I would think it should start, but the IAT is kind of important. Might be a good idea to check fuses too incase something got shorted when moving things around. Just scan over everything and see if you left stuff un plugged or maybe knocked something else loose.

It seems to be a lot quicker to just plug in a OB ii scanner. It will tell you what function is not working. I don't believe you will get any spark if the cps is bad.

You will have spark still... itll just will be erratic... CPS partly controls you timing... without it the vehicle wont run... or will run for a short time just all out of time...

Default cps and spark/no spark

I can only say that I just finished troubleshooting my GC which had no spark when cranking ( pulled coil wire and put near ground on engine ) and was solved by replacing the cps. so.....?????

Why did you replace it lol... said check to make sure it was hooked up and not broke off or something... lol... if its hooked up then lets search elsewhere...

You still have me confused... it wont turn over or it will turn over and wont start?
