1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9, Exact build number
So when was everyone's 5.9 made? Mine was made Sep. 29, 97. I am trying to find out what number my 5.9 is out of the 14,286 made. I have called the dealer and Chrysler and nobody knows anything. If anyone knows how we can find thid out it would be sweet. Thanks

Again with this? Why does it matter? If the dealer couldn't help you, what makes you think a bunch of dudes on a forum can?

Seriously, WTF? Why doesn't it matter? They only made so many Limited 5.9. Maybe if you actually onwed a limited 5.9 then it might mean something to you. The reason I am on here is I thought that the peolpe who had them would care enough to find out. Thanks anyways

24/09/1997 on mine. You might have a little more help on thespeedfreaks.net, lots of 5.9's over there.

Don't know how to find this out, but it is a great idea. I would like to know what number mine is also since they are rare.

Old fart with a wrench
All this puts me in mind of a car I saw in a classic car show. It was a 57 Chrysler 300C with a brass plaque on the dash that said "This car built specifically for...and a name". I thought it was something the owner put on himself, but it was put on by Chrysler.
