2002 Grand Cherokee Overland IAC screw/bolt source
All,
I bought a Standard IAC from Oreilly's. It was supposed to have hardware. Didn't check before I left the store. Would not have been a problem but the Husky screw driver I was using had enough magnet to pull the screw out of the hole and not enough to hold on. Naturally it didn't fall all the way to the ground. Could not see. Spent about 20 minutes with magnet I had, could not pull out of whereever it hid itself.
The Mopar sites don't list a part number for the screw. Yes, the $200+ IACs both claim to come with the screws and show them in the pictures. I bought the $75 one. Even with one screw it seems to be working fine, but . . . yeah, I want both screws.
So, before I go back to Oreilly's with a sob song, does anyone have:
1) The actual specs on that Torex screw?
2) A non-eBay, non-Amazon source for the screws.
3) A valid Mopar part number for the screw? All of the diagrams I find don't list a number for it.
Someone have a couple? I just need one.

Somebody needs to make a trip to the scrap yard. Don't forget to bring your bit-parts shopping list and the basic hand tools needed to extract those things. The torx screws you need are same on both the 4.0 and the 4.7. Sorry I have no P/N for you.
Plan some time around it because you'll probably find all kinds of ideas & things. It'll be worth your while in the long run. Check out Big Daddy Scrap, KB Cores and Thompson Auto Wreckers. All of those are a relatively short haul from Herscher, right?

KB Cores isn't a "scrap yard." They literally take in roll-off dumpsters full of engine and head cores for recycling. Used to be quite a few engine rebuilding companies around here. Now I believe they are getting cores from dealerships as Chrysler et-all no longer have "factory reman centers." You have to wait for them to make you a brand new block or motor. If you have enough engine blocks (preferably stripped) to fill a roll-off give them a call. They are right next to River Valley Recycling.
Thompson's has one of their yards a few miles from me. Sold them a Grand Wagoneer organ donor I had years ago. They don't get many Jeeps. People around here keep pouring parts into them until the ride gets totaled out by a deer or too many brewskies. Insurance companies have their own yards now.
Thanks for the feedback, but I have never done my own pulls. There is always somebody online who likes bone yard shopping and sells me what I need.

That's too bad, nothing builds your appreciation of Jeeping better than suffering your way, knuckle-busting and head-banging, through a day at the pick-n-pull! All I can say at this point is good luck and be careful to not mess-up the fastener threads in the throttle body.
