Default 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo

The check engine light came on and I scanned it, code P1391 comes up. It states that its the camshaft/crankshaft sensors, I have been reading online that they say to only use Mopar parts for this job, Can I just have the CPS changed or should I have both sensors done, I am going to buy the parts and have shop do the work. The light comes on after the ambient is about 60 degrees or so, do not want to get stuck and have it shut down!

Since it is a 2004 I would just have the shop replacing both the Camshaft Position Sensor and the Crankshaft Position Sensor if it were me. Use Mopar sensors.

Would plan on updating to a new Mopar TPS and a new IAC Sensor afterwards, and just call it a day.

Actually, I might consider replacing and updating to a new Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor/Master Sensor if it were a reasonable possibility at this time too.

I think those are all of the most important Mopar Sensors to take care of engine performance.

But, it is probably better to not fix it if it is not broken.

I think just the CPS and the other CPS since they are the code, and work together and are probably older sensors at this point.

The code should stay away if the sensor was setting it off but, it would probably still be a good idea to look over the associated wiring of the CPS sensors. The wires are probably okay though?
