2004 WJ - No Power Windows
I'm going to at a 04 WJ tomorrow that is for sale. It looks really clean and is a 2WD, which is fine for me. One thing the ad says is the power windows don't work, only the sun roof. Any idea what I should look at? Never had a WJ before, only XJs so I'm not sure where to start. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Look at the flexible wire bundle in the driver's door jamb. Sometimes wires break inside the bundle and all the window controls go thru the master switch in the driver's door. Also, make sure the window lock switch isn't set in that same master panel. I've bumped that switch with my elbow several times and it took me a while to figure it out the first time.
BTW, if it IS that switch, don't tell the guy. He'll probably raise the price!

No, the window lock switch just disables the windows from functioning, like to keep your kids from opening them. It doesn't have anything to do with the door locks.

Like the others say, even though it could be something else, it could be that a wire on the 20-something pin wiring harness that connects from the switches on the door panel to pretty much everything in the door panel (aside from the speakers) has a bad wire or pinched wire. Find out which pins go to the windows and probe that pin with a multimeter and see if you get some kind of reading from it.
Another thing is that, and it happened with my old '94 ZJ, is that if one of the switches are bad to any power window (it doesn't matter which one is bad), the master switch for that window won't function until the one bad switch is replaced. I'd also check all of the window switches and test them with a multimeter to see if that's also the culprit.
