2006 GCL (UConnect) system
Greetings All,
First time poster and a proud new owner of a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Limited.
Been attempting to do a little research on the 2006 as I am a little curious about the model.
First question is the "Limited" part. For the life of me I can find no documentation on line that states it is a limited. And by the term limited I am assuming it means just that (very few or "limited" production). This means absolutely nothing to me as 2 out of 3 told me it was. Again meaningless to me,however...
1 of the jeep rep's told me what makes it a limited is the pre installed Navigation system operated by UConnect. The sole purpose of the software is GPS and hands free phone so, it has a screen that is also a 6 disk changer-SAT-radio.
Now then..this is my dilemma.
I want a true wireless (bluetooth) connection with my mobile for music purposes. The nav system has no line in AUX in the front or back. Even if it did, the point would be moot anyway as again, I am searching for wireless.
I went to a couple of dealers today and asked about the system and was told a multitude of different things and was told that because there was no update for the system it meant that the system could not be upgraded. I found this a little hard to believe but...went to two others and was also told that I would have to purchase/install a separate UConnect system in order to gain that type of capability. In other words 800.00$.
I gave up attempting to find out the best thing to do at that point.
So, I am coming here in hopes of gaining some knowledge about this vehicle and getting some info on how to achieve this wireless issue.
Anyone who takes the time to read and especially reply it would truly be grateful.
Cheers!
