2015 Grand Cherokee Stuck Throttle

A word or two of caution regarding electrinic throttle control. You should never do real-time data feed testing with a scanner at the same time while you are out driving around with the vehicle in gear. The reason why is because if somehow the scanner shorts out, the vehicle may suddenly accelerate quickly and go out of control if the scanner were to cause a short circuit. Also, you should never manually move the throttle plate or place your fingers inside of the throttle body if the vehicle ignition key is in the power on position. The plate could swing open or closed randomly, and this may slice off your fingers if it did that while having your fingers in there.
The main parts of the electronic throttle control are the motor of the throttle body area, the accelerator pedal sensor, the throttle position sensor (which is only just a feedback mechanism having no direct control), and a ton of other stuff...

Old fart with a wrench
A satellite enabled phone will always work as long as it can "see" a telecom satellite. Thank the military for that.

Okay, that was a rhetorical question. I'm an engineer in the cellular business. I know exactly what happens, and I have a good idea of how much UNSERVED area there is in the U.S. There is a lot.
As for satellite coverage.... that IS possible, but the $$ says it's probably not happening. Satellite phone service is very expensive. And you don't need to thank the military for it. They didn't put up the 2 satellite phone systems currently operating. They did buy the old Nextel system which had gone belly up, but that system is not available for civilian use.
