Default 2015 Jeep Cherokee Heater

2015 Jeep cherokee 2.4. Defrost fan works just fine and strong. The water temp monitored on the dash is normal ranges. But the defrost blows in moderately warm air, then after a few minutes blows cold. Rinse and repeat.

This morning I turned off the defrost and turned on the recirculating air on the left next to the AC button and the heat comes out on the floor hot and simply radiates through the dash defrost vents.

So I assume something is wrong with the defrost. Again, water temps in range, so i assume the thermostat is fine. Also when the defrost is active, the fan works great, it just blows cold. But on the recirculating air it blows in heat on the floor thats hot.

Any Ideas?

Thank you

notice the defrost and rear heat on the right are both off. This produces heat on the floor and radiating only heat out of the defrost on the dash vents

You probly have a hot/cold door blend actuator that I malfunctioning. I have replaced several of these. The heater/ac controls could be faulty. Your local dealer can check these items with a computer, and pinpoint the problem.

How much will that cost to find out which it is? Would I be able to change the actuator out myself?

Either the blend door is stuck, the blend door actuator is not functioning, or the control panel is going out.
