this was an opinion based thread...he asked us what we thought of them...and i gave my input...I, personally, have never seen anything wrong with them..i like the tires..and i would love to put them on my own rig if i knew the possibility of blowing a tire was slim to none...as i said in my previous post...but i would rather run a cheaper tire, even if that means getting a set i dont like as much as the thornbirds, and putting them on the YJ, that way, if i do blow one out, i can easily get another

and no, ive never had them on my jeep, but a good friend of mine, who i wheel with every single time i go wheeling, and have wheeled in his XJ also with the thornbirds, does have them, and they work great for him....maybe it has to do with the light weight of his 94 2 door XJ, that its just not heavy enough to get them really caked like the fellow who put up the full size truck that weighs probably twice what his XJ weighs...

but, i wheel with this guy enough, that i could say i have had as much expirence with them as if i had a set myself...and i know some of you will say, that you have had the same set up as my friend, a 2 door XJ pre-1997, with the same tires and you didnt like them...but again, this is an opinion based thread...and since im the only person here who likes them, and think they are a good tire, then i guess that makes me full of crap.....so im sorry that i have a difference in opinion with you, crawlin, and you Iroc..but i guess itll stay that way
your an idiot, plain and simple.

you made a BOLD *** statement, saying you have a group of 140 people+ who you wheel with, and HALF of them have thornbirds, and they all like them.

i offered you 100 bucks to prove that very statement, and you backpeddle from it.

hell, hows this, ill give you 200 bucks, if you can show me a pic of your wheeling group, with 20 jeeps all packed together with thornturds on them ALL.

theres a reason why you will not do this, because there ARENT 50+ people in your group with thornbirds. stop trying to praise junk, you've admitted you have no experience with them, this much is a fact, therefore, you HAVE NO OPINION, your merely guessing. you provide NO fact on these tires, so shut the hell up.

everybody has there buddys cousin's sisters aunts uncles grandfather who has done this, built that, or accomplished what the hell ever, we get it, now stop nut swinging off the ****tiest tires known to man.

and to those who question these tires on lighter weight vehicles, nope.. they suck on anything.

they are downright DANGEROUS. they will pull you into the grooves and make highway traveling VERY dangerous, they suck in any single weather element you toss them into, snow, mud, ice, water, dry, it does not matter, they SUCK.

to the original poster, your better off spending money elsewhere, to be perfectly honest, id rather take 600 dollars, and wipe my *** with it...then buy a set of thornbirds, you'd have better luck/traction jsut driving on the rims.

Smile my opinion

tsl thornbirds are actually a good tire it just depends on the setup or your rig and terrain i know in central Kansas its almost impossible to get stuck or not have traction no matter whats on the ground they'll hook up nicely.
