4.7 engine #2 & 8 no compression
I have a 99 grand cherokee with 4.7 engine. Prior owner hit deer ,cracked radiator drove home about 3 miles, next day drove about 5 miles to the repair shop. Should be a bad head gaskets, but I have 130psi compression checks on all cylinders except #2 & # 8. Removed the valve cover every thing looks good,
Put air pressure into spark plug hole It blows out the intake on both cylinders.
Any ideas on where to go from here?

So, just to understand......you are saying that there is no compression, ZERO compression in cylinders 2 and 8, is that correct? Nothing....the needle on the gauge doesn't even move when you crank the engine? Is that correct? Is this engine even running? Is it noisy? Even if you had no rings on the pistons or seals on the valves, you'd still have some degree of compression, albeit extremely low, but no compression would indicate to me that there is no piston movement in those cylinders.

You can't pronounce every good just by removing the valve cover.
You're going to have to dig a lot deeper than that to find the problem.
Could and probably will be expensive. Flip it and get something better.

I suspect the valves have been bent, pull the head and do a complete valve job. CHECK THE PUSH RODS FIRST and see if they are not lodged to the side of the rocker arms rather than in the slots. I have ran across this before with mopar .

Chrysler 318(5.2Liter) and Chrysler 360(5.9Liter) also have pushrods. And they pertain to Grand Cherokees. The AMC 304, 360, and 401 V8s aLSO have pushrods,..Jeep engines as well.
