I have thought of that. I will have to get everything together and try after the river breaks up in May.

10 ohm 100 watt resister
Hey Guys,
I've done this hydraulic to electric fan conversion. Using a 10 ohm wire wound resister in place of the solenoid will keep the PCM happy. No service light.

I'm working on a Video on YouTube on how to do the conversion to electric. So far I couldn't be happier with the results.
It's not just the cooling but the engine bay looks 100% better. You can know see the whole front of the engine even see the ATI Super Damper. Changing out a water pump would be so easy now.

VERY professional and complete installation video! The only thing I have trouble with is when you used a drill press to mill with! Sacrilege! But hey! You use what you've got. I have to admit using a drill chuck in a Bridgeport mill to hold an end mill because I was in a hurry and couldn't find the proper collet.
There are a lot of guys who need to see this video. Well done and this should be a sticky! Even buying all the parts new would be cheaper than replacing that hydraulic motor on the fan.

Thanks, Dave, I've been hoping for some warmer weather to really test it out. We only had two days into the 90s. Last year this time we were seeing temps a 100+
Yeah, I know the drill press isn't meant to be used as a mill, as I mentioned it in the video. As you said, you use what you got.

Blueseasons mentioned using the Hayden 2794 fan clutch and the Dorman 620-149 fan. This seems like a good idea. Just wondering if anyone has tried it or knows of any problems with it other than the solenoid fault
