Some CBD joints. Unless, my nephew, or somebody, if they mixed some stuff up somewhere along the line maybe.. it is a possibility now that I think about it? You?
I did not believe what you said about it. I figured it was wrong. I wanted to make sure nobody else would get confused by what you mentioned using the fuel from out of diesel tanks was all.
I figure for winter time a good synthetic 5 weight oil is a good choice? It has the conventional Chevrolet Delo 400 oil running through the engine right now. I have some more time and more miles to go still before I need to change it. I got the stuff for it when I do. I got coolant. A jug of each; the 50/50 and straight concentration to have for adjusting the coolant mixture, and some distilled H20. It will be the third coolant fluid change-out done to it this year. Twice real good with distilled H20. The last time was when I used a warm weather coolant antifreeze/distilled H20 mixture.
I think I will probably require a new more powerful battery?

Hmmm. But I've seen three dumped at a station that did not sell diesel. Not many of those around these days.....
But, perhaps mixing is a newer standard way of doing things.....

I seem to remember when Sunoco was selling their super 260, they had 5 different grades all made by blending. This was when leaded fuel was a normal thing. All the racing guys ran Sunoco 260, but I ran Exxon Supreme and got better ETs.

I apologize. I thought I was just being funny, but... Maybe not? I have a lot of respect for Dave! I do not think he would really recommend to run diesel fuel in a gasoline engine. I was just messing around.

Noah, am I confused or are you thinking of using a 12v block heater? Did you do the math about the required amp draw for that? You're going to need a forklift battery to last all night! Or maybe a small generator.
Here in Upstate NY, it gets very cold at times in winter. There's usually at least a solid week in late January where it doesn't get above 0* at night. Neither of my 4.0s has failed to start as long as they had a good battery. I still use the "green stuff" for coolant and a 50/50 mix gives freeze protection down to -35*F. I've seen temperatures as low as -30*F without ice crystals forming in it. I run All Terrain tires year round (currently Cooper AT3s) and as long as there's at least 1/4" tread depth, I don't have traction problems. A block heater would be nice, but I haven't found it necessary to have one. Now that's assuming the vehicle is used every day. It could be a problem if it's allowed to sit for a long time. My XJ sat for a week without being started, but fired up with no problems, much to my surprise!

I choose a 65% antifreeze GZERO:H20 coolant mixture. It should turn to slush at around -60* or so, and be good close to -40* to -50* maybe?
I drained out the windshield washer fluid. I will put in freeze protection washer fluid and run it.

Find an insulation cover to protect the radiator from chill when driving. Something like the blinds partitions you find on some of the diesel tractor tailors. To deploy for protection from the wind chill factor when driving.

I'll have to find out where? I think this might be a bad winter this year? I never had a capable vehicle to do it. I signed myself and my ZJ up for winter emergency management disaster recovery work this season for the first time. I never had the opportunity to work a cold climate doing this work, or had offers before including a company vehicle, or a rental allowance etc... We'll see what happens? By being truly self-sufficient in your transportation ability. This really expands your potential in the field. I only want to rely on public transportation etc to a point. Maybe no airports are operating anywhere nearby, or any shops are open anywhere of any type to do business with sometimes is a problem? It is difficult to try and be able to claim 100% flexibility with instant deployment response. Outside of road conditions, floods, or other major obstacles standing in the way, I think these Jeeps mostly have what it takes.
It could be anywhere? Probably somewhere up north? It doesnt have to be from an ice storm.. It could be an explosion somewhere that has blizzard sub-zero temperatures happening?

We get temperatures down to 0* or slightly below here sometimes. I run regular non synthetic 15w40 motor oil, Mercon atf in the transmission and transfer case, 85w140 gear oil in the axles, regular green coolant, no block heater or grille cover, with a good battery, and my Jeep has no problems starting and operating In the cold.

That is good to hear these Jeeps start good in the cold. I've been down south during winters for probably the past 18 - 20 years where it does not get cold. I wouldn't know? It was never a concern.
I want to be about 99% exactly certain that during an extended length and high-level severity arctic deep freeze event, that the ZJ cranks over to fire off and run.. As if my life depended on it!

One thing to do.. I have an inverter and also a battery with a large capacity. It could probably run a 10" fan on high for days. Plug in a regular incandescent lamp. Put the bulb inside the engine compartment whenever I'm on extended down-time from running.
I don't know if this would help like how it does for us down south inside of our outside waterpump sheds, how it protects the pipes inside from freezing?
I bet there is something to use for if not near an endless power supply? A 3-prong standard US grounded power cord adapted lamp set-up with a high flux radiating incandescent bulb? Maybe something like this would help using it with the inverter in my Jeep?

I am thinking of installing this marine device that switches charging power and draw (house power) between two seperate batteries.. one a deep cycle, and the alternator while the vehicle is running. I have my Jeep on enough during the days working to believe this might be enough to keep and maintain a seperate fully charged bank. If not, whenever I am parked near one, I could draw power from one of the running generators to charge a deep cycle Jeep house battery. That would be cool!
Maybe start a seperate thread on something like this if I do? It would probably require an upgraded alternator?
