Then i doubt it's your VTSS because that cuts pulse to the injectors and you would still have spark. To completely eliminate the VTSS,unplug the module behind the overhead console, that will disarm the entire RKE/VTSS.

Can you pull any codes?

Lets see if i got this straight:

-Your jeep would not start and you traced it down to the ECU
-Put a new ECU in and it starts but alarm goes off
-You tried disabling the alarm but that created more problems(did you disconnect the module like i mentioned)
-It died and won't start, your sure it has fuel but no spark

Fill in anything i'm missing

seed, i don't know if this is connected in a way, but 4 weeks ago, when my jeep was still running , i used the lighter cigarette outlet to charge my cell phone after 5 minutes while the engine is running , the jeep just died. after that incident i replaced the ecu, drove it a couple of miles and after which it just died on the road, even took out the battery terminals and re-set the system but still won't start.Had the jeep towed to my house, bypassed the alarm by cutting wire and grounding it as you said and even took out the module still no start, but engine cranks.. there is fuel but no spark now got a 55 code (meaning all clear)..and thats where it ended. i am really at a lost here. waiting for your help buddy.thanks

I would rule out the crankshaft positioning sensor before going any farther.

I changed the crankshaft position sensor with an oem part from the dealer last march 2009. It gave me a problem before thats why I replaced it with a new one.

ok,what about the camshaft positioning sensor or the ASD relay?...At this point i'm pretty much just going through things that would give a no spark condition.

I believe you can pull the relay and jump from the rear pin to the front(assuming theres voltage at the pins). Or switch it out for another under hood relay.

btw, seed, when i replaced the crankshaft sensor, i bought an oem part while the camshaft pos. sensor just bought a replacement from salvo. Is there a connection that the replacement camshaft sensor wont perform as it suppose to, since it is NOT an oem part ?

I have heard many times that the aftermarket sensors just don't get the job done but i can't speak from personal experience on that one bud.
