My t case is a 242 I'm certain it's not disengaging fully from 4h part time and my front axel seems to be stuck or modified not sure which causing lots of problems any suggestions would help a lot. Now it gets stuck in first gear some times 3rd. Wont shift through all the gears anymore.

If it won't shift back into 2wd try rocking if back and forth between drive and reverse a few yards each way.

Sounds like you have 2 problems. The nylon shoes on the shift fork in the t/case are worn and don't allow the slider gear to fully engage 2wd and the transmission needs work. You can try putting the t/case shifter in 4wd full time, then slamming it forward as hard as you can into 2wd while rolling slowly. It may fully shift, but maybe it won't. The only other alternative is take it apart and rebuild it with new shoes, chain, and bearings. The shift linkage may also be out of adjustment.
The transmission may need a solenoid pack or maybe the wiring and connectors refreshed.

Thanks the linkage was a bit out of adjustment the shifter seems to hit the plastic at 2h and 4l kinda keep sit from sitting fully in the 2h slot and 4l slot. I should be able to shorten the shift lever distance. Seems to work fine when I have the indicator cover off thanks
