It's a good possibility. As a test, chock the wheels, and with someone brake-torquing it to put a load on it, use a vacuum pump or suction on the line to the EGR to see if it stalls. Repeat test at idle in gear.
It could also be carbon build up. My '97 5.2 didn't have EGR but would sometimes have bad spark knock under heavy load on regular gas because of carbon buildup in the combustion chambers. (177,000+ miles.) It didn't do it when using premium gas.
Also check the pick-up in the distributor.

hummmmmmm. Replaced the throttle body today along with all the sensers on it, Definatly didnt run any better.
so its looking more and more like fuel, spark or the EGT. I was playing around with it today and it seemed to just hesitate like it was starving for fuel or had no sprk. I should have keeped the coil off my 4L to swap over.

the issue has been figured out, You guy where right about the EGR.
I was playing around checking vacume and what not and it was fine. I decided to pull the vac line off the EGP solenoide and cap it, Fired it up and put it under load with my foot on the break and it didnt stall! been driving around like this at everything from side road up to highway speeds and everythign seems OK, even the detination is gone.
Thanks for the help guys!

They were built by a shop with forged crank/rods/pistons, different turbo, and fuel management system. Driveability sucks. My wife won't even ride in it. It's sitting in storage in Tenn. If I had it to do over I'd go with the 2.4 DOHC engine. More power w/less boost.
