On several driving adventures, including the ones after all the recent work,,,My front end is acting like it has 2 smoked cv joints...however I think that the 4wd is slightly engaged. This is definitely my premier thought on this situation, I have not done any research into this but I know failing cv joints and 4wd engagements....I am pretty sure it is an adjustment related to the trans and cable settings on the transfer case....any input on what I should modify?

Inconceivable!! I brought the cherokee to my mechanic to have him fix the pan I screwed up and stop the leaking. I like to throw him some business now and again. Anyway no more leaks....I gave him 5 quarts of ATFPLus 4 cause that was all I had left. He pulled the pan and fixed the leak...I should have checked the torque specs prior. Anyhow I am test driving it home and it is holding gears too long again...even after I readjusted the tvc cable that fixed that in the first place. The cable is still in the same position...but I think I am about 2 quarts low. We checked the dipstick and it was fine(in neutral) but I put in 7 when I changed the trans fluid and it was awesome until it started leaking back out. My question now is could low fluid cause it to hold gears too long? I had it perfect and now I am almost shifting back to square one! I am not happy. I doubt they did anything...they did exactly as I asked. Stop the leak, only use this fluid. So I am gonna get more of the same but I am in a state of shock right now. Not cool. Any info is appreciated asap!

Nah, sounds like your boy stuck his finger in your TV cable adjustment. Thought he'd help you out. Do it over, ..remember, loose is better.
Also, any knock of the cable by the pan, or the adjuster, could have changed it ever so slightly.

Well since my last post I added a quart of trans fluid...and then took it for another spin...did not fix the problem as soon as the engine got a little warmer it was holding gears and then voila a massive trans leak began again. Not expecting that. I really think it is way overfilled at this point so I will be draining some off tomorrow. The tvc cable was solid on my end where I last set it. Excess fluid can cause it to hold gears...so I am gonna get some out and then run some drive tests then if I am too low add more. At least all the fluid is clean hahah

I have decided to abandon the ZJ project as I no longer wish to invest money and time in such a low valued vehicle. All work from now on will be focused on my 2002 Wrangler Sport TJ. It is going to get my full attention. The laredo is not leaking fluid but I cannot nail the shifting down,,,the inconsistency and many noises have made me leary. She will be around until I sell her. I have a lot invested in the TJ and nothing to show for it besides brand new parts everywhere and not installed. It is time to get this done. Of course I will be posting on this puppy. She is a monster and the jeep in my avatar. I call her Big Yellow! Thanks for all your help with the laredo. I can't spend another cent on it.

Annnnnd just like that my daily driver Altima has toasted rear brakes and possibly a frozen rear caliper seemingly out of nowhere so I am back to driving the zj to work tomorrow. What are the odds of that? I will have the brakes done on my altima Saturday I hope so whatever. I suppose I should not be mad with all the progress I made with the zj. She will get me to work. oye...and yes I do my own brakes hahaha
