97 ZJ trans Slipping

Default 97 ZJ trans Slipping

It seems like this Trans Slipping stated when it started to get cold out. If I warm my ZJ up real good,it is not as Bad . If i take off in first then move the Shifter to Drive it seems ok.

It's not going to get better on it's own.

The FSM has an EXCELLENT transmission section, w/ great diagnostic steps.

It seems like after it warms up from Driving for like 15 to 30 mins ,it Shifts fine then . I also readjusted the Trans Cable.

It seems very Temperatur affected . If it is over 40 degrees or if the Trans is wormed up real good. It does not Slip,an I do not have a Trans cooler .

You do have a transmission cooler, it is in the radiator, and you could have an external one also.
