Thumbs down 98 Grand Cherokee 4.0 knocking no oil to valvetrain

2nd 4.0 ive put in... couple months ago i had to replace a rocker arm and push rod. (ball on top of pushrod broke off and rocker arm mangled) doing so I notice almost ZERO oil was pumping thru the pushrods. So over the last few months I have been keeping her hydrated with oil and lucas plenty no noticeable problems now the knocking and ticking has come back so i removed the valve cover to check if the same thing had happened again and everything was fine so i done a oil change and checked for oil flow to the vavletrain ZERO... knocking has gotten worse and now misfires. bad oil pump? or what i really dont want to have to put another motor in it

Stop the Lucas. That stuff has killed a lot of engines. Quiets things down so you don't realize how bad your problem is until it's too late. You don't need THICK oil you need FLOW.

If you have no flow to the top of the engine, either your oil passages are all gunked up or the bearings are shot or the pump is shot.

Have you ever blown a head or head gasket?

You have to lash the valves when you do this stuff. Now you have a collapsed lifter. Next time learn about setting preload. Plenty of threads on it.
