98 limited zj over heat

maybe the water pump is bad..

also just because u have a new stat does not mean it cant be faulty I have seen this happen.

good luck.. I would run a garden hose through the block and hoses make sure everything is clean, take the stat back and tell them it don't open and u want to warranty it for a new one (what brand did u buy)

make sure to remove the belt and check to make sure the pump is spinning, another things may be to look at the price of a pump and replace it if its not to pricey.

WP's aren't very expensive. Just get a good one if needed. I replaced it on my 5.2L and it's probably the same pump. If needed, replace the serpentine belt at the same time. Cheap insurance IMO.

well over heat issue is fixed now i had a bad fitting on my radiator and a bad cap connection so thats why it wasnt circulating all good now

Please explain the "bad fitting". Glad it's fixed though. Post some pics of your 5.9L ZJ and let us see what it looks like.
