While removing the air intake hose (coming off the air box), I broke the PVC that connects to a rubber fitting on the far end of the air intake hose. I brought the broken part into an auto parts store and they couldn't figure out what the name of the part is so they could look it up to see if they had it. It is the only small hose coming off the air box. Go figure. At any rate, I walked out empty handed and found in my garage a heavy duty black rubber hose with an inside diameter that is a perfect fit to replace the hose that I broke. I figured I'd install it so I can get to work in the morning and hopefully buy and install the OEM for the part I broke this weekend. The reason I had to remove the air intake hose was to remove the air box in order to replace two coils and spark plugs that coded for misfiring. When I took it for a test drive, it did not misfire and idled and accelerated perfectly.

I've since scoured the internet looking for the OEM of the hose I broke (has rubber fitting coming off air box which connects to a PVC 5/8" OD pipe, which connects to another rubber fitting). My concern is in the meantime with the rubber hose I used, since the original hose I broke is oddly shaped, making a few bends, or turns if you like. I noticed the part it connects to can swivel 360 degrees so I could have installed my rubber hose so it would only have about 5"-6" of length, from air box to its end connection (the part that swivels). But the original part takes a total route of 21" with the 4 bends it has, so when I installed my rubber hose I made it take one long bend (although still short of 21") before it reaches the swivel part.
