another overheating v8
Ok, so first off i would like to introduce myself. I've been looking on this site for a while but finally registered. So for the past month or so ive been working on my heep trying to get it from overheating. Started with a new radiator, thermostat, and electric fans. No luck their. So then i cut holes in my front bumper and cut the front crossmember to try and get more air more air flow, still no luck. So ended up pulling the motor and found cracked heads. So i put new heads on the motor put it all back together. Another new thermostat, 192. New waterpump, and still... Overheating. I dont know what to look at next. Im tempted to take the hood off and see if that helps. Thanks

I steam cleaned the ports on the block and heads before i put it back together, some typical rustcame out, nothing to horrible. I've peaked it with the front end up high and bleed some air out but still not keeping it cool.even popped of the heater hose from the water pump and poured water down that as well. Im running out of ideas. I used a temp gun on it and its getting up their. My dash gauge when its running gets between 210 and the max and that's as far as I'll push it. That's with the heater on too.

Ok so the other day i tried diving it with our the hood on and it was still overheating. So i went and bought the flush kit from prestone. Put the liquid in the radiator and drive it around for a few minutes then flushed it out.still nothing. Is their a common flow issue in these blocks? Cause it actually seems like a restrictive flow.Ill pop the top hose off and see what happens when the thermostat opens.

Only when driving. I put a new pump on it a fee days ago. Itll stay under 210 at idle. But as soon as i put it in gear and drive it, it'll slowly pass 210. Almost like the thermostat is stuck open but 3 thermostats in a row and its the same issue

Maybe check for combustion gases in the coolant. Kind of what it sounds like to me. Did this issue start all at once, or slowly, or did u replace any parts or anything right before this started?
I have a 5.2, 1994 and it stays just a tick under 210, all the time. 220k on it.
