Default Anybody seen this before?

Hey there,
I wondered if someone can help with a strange shifting problem my 97' ZJ has.It will shift normally up and down the gears as long as i don't kick it into passing gear.Once i've kicked it down and eventually come to a stop,it won't shift out of first anymore.I have to stop, shut the ignition off and on, and everything will shift normally again.I'm assuming it's a sensor or something since turning the thing off resets it .I'd appreciate any feedback i can get to try and cure this.I've watched this forum for along time and you guys have helped me get her to where she's a dependable little vehicle( for the most part.)

Thanks for the feedback. The TV cable was the first thing i suspected but could see nothing wrong with it.The shift points and everything are where they are supposed to be.I'll try resetting it tomorrow and see what happens.Any tricks to resetting it?
