Any clue what it is? I was told to run a thicker gear oil I. The rear end

Vibrations is the only symptom? How have you verified it's coming from the rear? I'd place money it's coming from the front.

It's the rear only comes on when I hit about 50-60 mph and it's a low hum from the back end

Does it get louder as you rev more? Have you verified your u-joints are good? I got alot of vibes before I swapped out my I can only assume original u-joints.

I'd start with that. No need to throw money away trying to fix a "problem" that's caused by something else.
