Banging Noise Driver Side Rear Wheel

Banging Noise Driver Side Rear Wheel
Hey Everyone
I have had a banging noise in my driver side rear wheel that occurs every time I hit a small bump.
The shocks are only six moths old and nothing seemed bad.
The Y suspension frame and bushings were replaced (this is the one that sits on the ball joint) because the bushings were bad and we figured that was the problem, but I still have the noise.
When I bounce the car the sound can be heard like it's coming from the top of the shock inside the car, but from the outside it doesn't seem that the shock is bad since it makes no noise.
Could it be the shock mount busing?
Any suggestions?????

if it is like a popping kinda noise, you might need to grease the joints, even if it doesnt solve the problem it cant hurt to do a good greese job if you havent already.

bad sway bar link bushings?
I've got a similar issue with my 99 GC.
I havent replaced them yet, however the rear sway barf links have a worn bushing in both sides and I can move the sway bar up and down and see the play in it. I'm suspecting that is the problem on mine anyway.

Replaced the Sway bar sides/bushings
So I replaced the sway bar sides/bushings...no improvement...the noise if definitely coming from right above the shock/spring....will replace the shock this week, even though they are less than a year old, and the bushings

just unbolt the shock and drive carefully to see if the noise goes away, no point to replace if not needed. But like I said I have seen BRAND new shocks make noise that were made wrong

Same ol noise
I figured soon after the snow melted off and the cold went away I'd hear another post on this subject.
I too replaced both rear shocks hoping to eliminate the banging, and no change to the noise problem, that's why I then assumed the sway bar links bushings needed replacement.
My banging noise is still there, but havent done the link bushings either. I spose I still have loose bushings in the sway bar and simply need to fix those and see if that fix's the noise.

I guess I didnt ask the question, besides the fact the shock was bad ( I deemed my shocks bad as well), did replacing the shocks eliminate the banging??

Stabilizer
Not sure what it is really called, but it looks like a Y...well really a V, and sits on top of the rear axle on a ball joint., then connect to the body on the other ends...this stiffens up the rear end, but when a bushing goes in it, it can cause a lot of play in the rear end (especially a loose feeling when hitting a rough spot in the road)...it's also better to replace the entire frame than trying to replace just the bushings, and it's not much more expensive.
You can also check the sway bar bushings too.
