A/C blower fan not working on high
1997 Grand Cherokee Laredo: The inside A/C blower fan goes off when switched to high fan setting. Works on the other speeds.
Ideas, anyone?

The voltage runs thru a resistor board to give you the lower speeds. When you switch it to high, the motor gets full 12v power. Sounds like your switch is bad.

I know from working on several GM vehicles in the late 90's early 2000's it was always a resistor or a relay when the blower wouldn't work on high, as the switch does not take the brunt of the draw it merely allows the flow of power through the resistor. I'm not really sure if it applies here but, it's a couple of items you should be checking. Of course it could be the switch or the blower itself. Usually when the resistor goes out, you'll gradually lose the other speeds as well. I would be checking the resistor and blower first and switch last.
Good luck as Chrysler electrical problems and trouble shooting them don't always seem to follow the usual logic as with other manufacturers.
