Yeah, was just saying that those vacuum lines weren't behind my a/c control unit like in the picture.

Well, it turns out the Automatic Temperature Control system is electrically controlled, not vacuum controlled. So these aren't on mine at all, it's only wires..

.. Yeah, news to me too

This is from my '97 ZJ FSM. It may be different in your '95 manual. The system can run a self diagnostic.
Tried the self diagnostic and no fault codes came up - it showed 00. I read that the codes are erased when the battery is disconnected/connected, but wouldn't it throw a code once I used the a/c controls again?

Where should I go from here?

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Check all the vacuum lines, the cruise control solenoid if equipped, and the vacuum cannister.

If you didn't get a code showing the control head/assy. was bad, I'd say the cause of your issues in your 1st post would be the blend doors. That's a fairly common issue with the Grand Cherokees. >http://www.heatertreater.net/indextech.html#window

So the 98-04 blend doors on that site will fit on mine okay? I don't see any for the 97 and earlier.

I can't answer that. You'd need to check with them.

Does anyone have a link to or write-up for changing the '95 blend doors without removing the dash? (A hack method) I've seen them for the '98+: http://www.nc4x4.com/forum/index.php...re-dash.79583/ but not for the '95. I don't want to cut into the wrong part of the box.

Moreover, is this even possible in the '95? Or will I have to remove the dash and box?

I checked w/the dealer about this. They offer the blend door for your '95 ZJ w/ the ATC system, part # 501292AA (or 5012922AA sorry). Price $49.10.
They said it didn't look like you could repair it like the later models, thought you'd have to remove the unit to repair. I can't find any other info either way.
I would have thought they would be similar though, and you could.

Thanks for all the info, Blue. I appreciate it!

Was hoping to hear I didn't have to take the dash apart and pull the box. The dash isn't too bad, just not looking forward to removing the box.. seems like a bit of a pain, with the heater & a/c hoses.

We'll see how it goes.
