Find the number printed on the ECU attached to pass side firewall and check ebay. Make sure it's a reputable seller, check his feedback.

You can also call the local Jeep dealer and ask for a number for a replacement unit. I did this and found a good reconditioned unit on ebay.

IIRC i spent $120 and about 20 minutes to swap it out. I did a search when i was experiencing this issue and found symptoms identical to mine and posts stating the ECU was the culprit. So i bought one, swappped it in and i'm a hero to the wife.

I have looked everywhere and found every number possible but an ECU number. Even on the sticker at driver side door - no ECU.
Maybe the boyfriend can locate it on my Jeep when he gets around to it. He doesn't do a thing with vehicles so I'm trying to get this done on my own. haha.
