compression
i dropped a rocker and when putting it back on i can just slide it under the cam and it'll fall off it u touch it. i chipped the lobe on the cam and i'm getting new one..the compression on this cylinder (#6) was like 20-30 is what the mechanic said. other cylinders were good he said. i bought a new lash adjuster for this cylinder....i've noticed that i'm able to push it down almost all the way on the top part.....(the nipple).
should i be able to do this. could this be my problem why it's just sitting their and will fall off it u touch it. i'm getting new cam in 2-3 days when i have the money, so i won't have a problem putting rocker back on since the cam will be off when i change it....the spring seems fine. could i've bent something on the head

Is the spring lower than the rest? You may have dropped a valve seat insert inside the head.

the spring seemed fine and not broken from what i could tell....
i kinda think that since the lash adjuster wasn't bled that it made it easy to push down and maybe thats why the rocker was able to go right on....
so i figure if i bleed the lash adjuster the rocker won't be loose when i put it on...
if that wasn't the case with the lash adjuster...how do i go about seeing if its a bad valve on that cylinder
thanks for help

Turn the engine over by hand until both the valves for that cylinder are closed, that is off the cam lobes. Then put air pressure in the spark plug hole and see if it leaks. If both valves are sealing and you're not completely on top center for that cylinder, the engine will flip over.

ok thank u, i'll be doing that later this evening when i'm able to, thanks.
i've had the lash adjuster sitting in oil since yesterday evening and i'm still able to push nipple part all the way down.....its brand new and never used..
i've tried pushing nipple in an out while its in oil numerous times and it never got hard to push down...i can still push it down with my hand and rocker still just sitting on it..
i'm gonna do some searches now to see why..
