Google, Bing, and even Duckduckgo would have been faster. Just type "2000 grand cherokee crank sensor location" into the search box for instant results. Easy. You can also search for images. A moderator can move your post to the proper place. Also easy to find. Its a couple spots down on the list of forums under "Stock Grand Cherokee".

Crank sensors being what they are these days my advice is buy OEM. if not available buy one with lifetime warranty from a nation chain auto parts store and also buy a low buck spare, test it and keep it in the glove box for getting home if the lifetime warranty one fails..

It wont be Mopar but I have been working with a manufacturer to create a reliable CPS. I have 97 to 01s done. Next is the jumbled years from 91 to 95/96. Then Renix years.

Answer to your question is it's in the same place on both the ZJ, WJ, and the XJ, On the bellhousing on the driver's side under the brake booster, IF you have the 4.0L I6.
