Default Dorman 917-327 Transmission Fluid Dipstick

I ordered the above dipstick to check the fluid level on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, however when I put it in it feels like it is hitting the Trans filter. the Jeep is the 3.7 liter with The NAG1 (WA580 or W5A580) 5 speed Mercedes automatic transmission, if its hitting the bottom of the pan then there is no trans fluid in it and I find that had to believe.

The presence (or not) of transmission fluid has no bearing on the dipstick hitting the bottom of the pan. Hitting the bottom of the pan is simply a function of the length of the dipstick. Are you sure you got the right one - or if the 2006 even has a transmission dipstick?

Best bet is to compare to a stock dipstick. Reviews of this item on SummitRacing
also state that it is too long or had to be modified to work.
Following link is details on transmission, just to get to know it better if necessary. http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_transm.htm

That dipstick is simply a tool.. it's used to check level then spooled and put in toolbox. Theres a plug on tube stating dealer service.

I had to purchase one after replacing solenoids and working on the valvebody of our 06 WK 3.7. It can be a bit difficult to read/understand.
