Dropping everything overland into limited or laredo?
I have 2003 overland that has some pretty serious exterior issues and I want to drop all the goods into a limited or laredo. Is this possible? I'm sure that wj to wj isn't a problem but I'm no pro. I like the idea of having all the overland power and capabilities hidden under a lesser badge. Any help and opinions are very much appreciated. Thanks guys

Should be a piece of cake. A Laredo and Limited will be wired for the extra electronic stuff, it should just be plug and play deal.

Sounds like you intend to switch the engine, trans, t-case, and those special axles too. It has the Quadra-Drive system doesn't it? The engine wiring harness, PCM, and the TCM will be different on your 4.7L HO than on a 4.0L equipped WJ, but even if you get a standard 4.7L equipped WJ you'd need to use your HO's PCM.

Oh yeah, everything including those axles. I would never leave them behind. I will look for a Laredo that came with the 4.7. I've seen some salvaged rigs going for $2k with mechanical issues.

Ha ha. God, I wish I had never been wrong, throughout my entire life. Would have saved me a ton of trouble with the law and I would be a millionaire! I'm pretty Stoked on this project. I wrecked my e55 so it's time to invest in another jeep project. I wonder how much I can cut out of these WJ fenders... I've cut the max on X's but this is a whole new game. It will be great.

I'm going to spend some time searching the web for examples, pics and any advice on the cutting. I will definitely start a thread on this build! I would love to stuff 33's under a 3-4 inch lift with plenty of room for articulation when the disconnects come off. That's the goal here
