First jeep lift questions
I have a 93 ZJ that I wanted to get a 6" lift on. Reason is that many of the trails my family members and friend go on in Richmond aren't beginner trails. I was wondering if it would be possible or logical to get the RC 4" X series kit with Z-flex arms that are good for up to 6 inches of lift and just add 2" spacers onto of the lift. Or should I just save up more and buy the 7" lift kit from IRO? My ZJ is my DD for the next year or so but I plan to wheel atleast every other weekend. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just do a search for lifts, gonna be a chunk of change to do it right ,and if you do it on the cheap it will be a pita to get the death wobble out of it

I think you are forgetting the nut behind the steering wheel. Just because you have a 6 inchs does not automatically qualify you to use 6 inches. You Tube is filled with Jeeps that ONLY failure is the loose nut behind the steering wheel!

anything over 4.5'' of lift needs long arms. short arms suck, and if you are doing enough supporting mods to go over 4.5'' of lift, why limit the flex?

Well the lift would be professionally installed at Open Air Jeeps and I wasn't sure if the IRO kit came with long arms or not

That's how the ride will feel all year as you DD it, and it will flex like a hippo, not very much.

The premium kit seems to come with all the frills (bar pin eliminators, JKS quick disconnects etc.) but they both come with new track bars, even a double sheer front conversion, as well as new brake lines and a drop pitman arm. I can't think of anything else right off the top of my head but there's going to be more, there always is. At 7" I would also look at doing and SYE as well.

Well I was looking at the Critical Path kit. Haven't heard of the premium kit, what is that? And I have heard about an sye but can you explain it to me

It also seems like the Premium kit comes with a better rear arm setup with a new high clearance subframe.

So I would need stronger axles. After considering all that is needed I am thinking about just getting the 4.5" lift with 33s and saving up to buy an XJ just for wheelin

33's are good on stock axles, you'll have to trim your fenders and bumper just a tad, and smash down the seem in the fender well, even at 4.5". 35's I think would be fine on some upgraded axle shafts and stock axles

Is this something you just made up, or have you had 35's on the stock axles?
