Purchase my first Jeep this week, a stock 2000 Grand Cherokee 4x4. I wanted something to flat tow behind my motorhome and decided it was time for a Jeep. Everything works only issues, some rust between windshield and roof rack and the heater is inop due to leaking heater core. Will tackle heater when i have to get in the dash someday.

My priorities for mods:

1 - make it towable…. Looking at either Blue Ox or the Ready Brute tow bars. I was considering the Blue ox baseplate, then realized i would probably change out the front bumper and did not think the towbar would reach with a larger front bumper. Now i’m researching towable bumpers which the towbar will connect to and not pull the front of the GC off.

2 - Lift it, looking at a 4” lift. So far it’s probably either Iron Rock or Rough Country, then there are short arms or long arms? With the lift will be some new off road tires… have not made it that far in my research yet.

I have an appt with the DMV in Aug, so I have sometime to work on it.
