Heat Shield
Driving home today i heard a rattling underneath my jeep. i got under and took a look and noticed my heat shield above my cat had fallen off and was just resting on my exhaust pipe.
My question is how important in that and how dangerous is it to drive without it on for a few days. I would need to have a shop put it back up so if its not necessary it wont be going back.
thanks for your help.

If at all noticeable, you might find the floor area above the heat shield will become hotter but for it to soak through the insulation and carpet it may not be noticeable.
worst case which I have seen is melting carpet/insulation. This was on a vehicle that had a restricted convertor which overheated.
