Default Help before I set it on fire! 94 ZJ

Hey all.
I’ve got a 1994 ZJ. Last night I finally got it back together after replacing the entire cooling system. Yes even the heater core. Went to fill it up, and it’s leaking from the heater house outlet on the water pump. New water pump came with a threaded screw in outlet, after accident laying in a fire ant bed and getting roughly 50 + stings, it appears to be leaking from the threaded area. I used plumbers tape. So. Is there any way I can fix it without having to take everything apart all over again?

Legitimately thinking of burning the dumb thing.

Thanks in advance!

If a threaded fitting is leaking, it must be removed and redone. Any glop you put on the outside will fail within a few days, tops.

Maybe not enough plumbers tape, or maybe too much. Pics would help.

Guessing a 4.0 which means you can't unscrew it with the pump on.
If you do take it off I recommend thread sealant.

What I used on my XJ for the tube.
This would require a new hose but you could always do this:

Figure you could cut the tube, unscrew what is left which would not be a problem at this point, and replace with the fitting and new hose.

There is one option, but I doubt you'll like it. Cut it off short and then unscrew it. Put a straight pipe hose fitting in it and stick the hose directly on it. It'll be very little clearance but it will fit. Use a good liquid pipe sealant, like that stuff used for natural gas.
This works for 5/8 hose, but it's really tight for 3/4.
