Help if you can
Ok I have a 02 grand Cherokee with the 4.7 HO my transmission valve body has literally exploded this is my first jeep I've ever had this problem with. I've never rebuilt a valve body is it something a basic knowledge mechanical skill can rebuild or should I just try and find a salvage trans and hope for the best thank you for any help guys

A valve body is full of tiny passages with checkballs and pistons and seals. It has to go back together just right, and usually in a particular order. Can a valve body be rebuilt? Yes. IF you know what you are doing. Also, some use bolts of different lengths and must go back into the same hole they came out. Take note of this when pulling, or installing one. I would never tear one apart without a repair manual for the transmission you are using as they usually have diagrams covering the valve body and what goes where.
Post a pic of your exploded valve body. Ive never seen one do that before.
