Jeep engine bucks/jerks when hitting a bump in the road
I have a 2004 Jeep GK. Whenever I’m going 45 mph or faster and hit a bump in the road, the RPMs and speedometer drop way down really fast and it feels like the engine just gives out for half a second, then it recovers and drives normally (until I hit another bump). This has been going on for a while now and I can’t seem to figure it out. I replaced the MAP sensor this past week due to rough idling and stalling issues and also cleaned the IAC and TPS sensors with carb spray. I checked for any vacuum leaks and couldn’t find any and I also checked the battery terminals and most of the wiring harnesses under the hood and found no issues with those. I’m fairly certain it’s an electrical issue, since the cars starts, idles, and runs normally as long as I don’t go faster than 40-45mph. The transmission shifts smooth and the jerking only occurs when hitting a bump. Any ideas?
