I posted this in the wrong section originally. I have a 98 grand cherokee 4.0. It will be going along just fine but when I come to a stop or leave a stop it acts like its running out of gas. I had the idle air control replaced. Still does it. Also the fuel guage will intermittently go from the fuel level currently at ,to the empty mark. Although the stalling and fuel reading error do not always go hand in hand , I"ve noticed they do seem to herald each other. Could it be a bad connection at the harness at the fuel tank? No codes are logged per the mechanic that put the idle air control in.

pull codes yourself next time it acts up. my ZJ has been super reliable(knock on wood) except last week I was driving down the road and it died. at first it didn't want to restart, then finally it did and I took it home. after pulling codes (I did the key method) I had a fault code. I plugged in my scan tool (because I was to lazy to look it up online) and I had a CPS circuit malfunction. I bought a new CPS, but didn't install it right away. I cleared the code and drove it around for a while, checking for a code later that hasn't come back yet. I ended up swapping out the CPS just so I didn't have to do it later on the side of the road.

my XJ did the same thing and i just ran a can of seafoam injector cleaner through it and it cleared up
