Jeep WJ Antenna Base
Hey guys. I've got a 03' WJ. From my antenna wacking multiple branches while off roading, the base cracked and it developed play. I tried to tighten it but the nut and threads just spin on the inner plastic part. I have a parts jeep, bought the tool for the special nut, and went to remove that antenna base but I couldn't get the nut to move for the life of me. PB Blaster, heat, tapping it with a hammer... none of it worked. I looked online and I can find a new kit but they go for about $100 and they don't seem to come with the nut. I'm ready to go to a junk yard but I'm wondering if all of those will have seized nuts too. The nut appears to be brass while the threads seem to be steel. My thought is the two different metals lead to some corrosion so any parts jeep will have the same problem. Has anyone dealt with this or have any advice? Thanks in advanced.

Just to wrap up this thread: I tried looking everywhere for an aftermarket base but I had no luck, only Mopar. eBay was the cheapest option I could find. Roughly $75 for the base but something ridiculous like $20 for the nut. I reused the plastic upper piece that they wanted another $30 for. This is the new antenna I went with: just to prevent it from happening again. It's annoying but I wanted everything sealed up so I don't get a rust spot there. I'm assuming the reception will be bad with the new small antenna but I never listen to the radio, just apps on my phone so it's fine.
