Check your TV cable for adjustment or being disconnected. That's the cable from the throttle to the trans. It controls shift points.

I thought the TV cable was literally only in control of the throttle? I'm shifting to second at around 3800, third at around 4500, and I couldn't even touch fourth at 100mph

Okay so I examined the TV cable this morning and found something that seemed off.
In the picture above from closest to farthest
Cable one, goes to some kind of ground or vacuum, I have no clue.
Cable two, goes to the tranny.
Cable three, runs into the dash.
I pushed onto the cables a little bit to check for tension and cable one was so slack it could be used as a hammock for a mouse. Cable two, was a little slack. And three, was in the Goldie locks area.

I believe it's for the cruise control. It should go to a large vacuum canister. It should be slack if not engaged.

I've searched numerous threads and different searches. Can anybody tell me the sensor or plug that is in between (bottom of tranny on the side) input and output sensors on a 42Re. Can't find a diagram that tells me

There's a trans control solenoid. Governor pressure position sensor and solenoid. And another I can't remember
