Jump starter .. How many amp ?!
Dear All,
For grand cherokee 2012 limited v6.
I was checking out jump starters and I had no experience with them before.
How many "Peak Amps" and "Cranking Amps" I should choose ?
I have done some researches over the Internet and some are saying 200Amp would be enough. in Amazon, most of starters are above 1000 Amp peak.
I think the higher number wont make a problem as long the voltage is 12v. but would it be enough if I buy 300-500Amp starter ?!

I would think 300 to 500 would be plenty. In a garage I once worked in, they had a clip-on ammeter that went on the battery cable. It measured cranking amps and the boss told me if the starter drew more than 250 to 300 amps, you should replace it.

Rockford make a small jump starter that is about as big as a sandwich. It has a peak of 200 amps and has all kinds of adapters for charging phones and stuff like that. I have one at work and it is awesome. We paid 150 for it fro MAC tools, but found them online for 115.
