Yeah I like that. I had looked it up before , just forgot what it was called. It is far better than full time. Just recently I had to start getting under it to help it out of part time lock. I guess I need to replace some bushings in the linkage. Could not adjust it out. Not bad at all for 180k and 15 years!!! These jeeps are one of the toughest vehicles built , well worth investing money into. I think buying a used jeep from the mid to late 90's is a better investment than buying a new car.

I don't think I will go with just spacers. IRO has a kit that someone showed me for a reasonable price. I think spacers alone would put a strain on certain things.

I hated the spacers. Its only 1.75in and for the price just buy a 3in lift. Spend the extra 200$

My spacers are 3" but I removed my factory spacer cause they were all different sizes and made my Jeep sit sideways. The factory spacer should be 0.75". So, for now I have about 2.25" of lift and I am running 31's. Just don't try to flex it hard or I will put a tire in the fender. And I love my 242. I have 228,000 miles on mine with no problems.

Yeah the IRO kit comes with shocks , one set of springs , sway bar links , and I was told they are made in the USA. Made in USA is very important to me. We have to support our communities and our country. Can't keep buying foriegn goods and blaming politicians for not having jobs.

I agree with your logic about used jeeps. Just watch out for "frame rot" My 97 ZJ saw lots of salt and snow. The axle control arm mounts on the body melted away. I fishplated the rears, but the front was hopeless.

I just found an intake from a 99 grand cherokee. The throttle body is gone already. The intake looks like what I would call a dual plane design. What kind of differance will this intake make? Will it swap right over with my existing parts on my 97 intake? Or do I need to find one with the throttle body? The exhaust manifold also looks differant. This is on a wrecked vehicle and really hard to get to. I've got a magnaflow super turbo muffler and walker tail pipe on the way already. I think the magnaflow is a 2.25 in and out , the tail pipe I'm not sure about. Amazon isn't very good on product description at times.

Dont worry about the manifold. Just leave what you got. Just do the injectors.

add a 4 wheel customs 2.25" lift. its $60. you dont need need trac bars or control arms. i didnt get an alignment after i did mine and my new tires measure almost 31". i didnt notice a drop in power and not much in mileage. i would add extended bumpstops if i were flexing it though (im not on mine so i wont be adding them)
