Lights not working - Key slot, in and under glove box, under hood
Well, just nearly finished up converting to LEDs. In doing so, I discovered 4 lights I couldn't get working - with stock bulbs or with the new LEDs.
The light that illuminates the ring around where the key goes in the ignition.
The light that illuminates the glove box.
The light under the glove box with the yellow plastic cover.
The light under the hood.
Anyone able to tell me when these should be on, and ideas why they might fail? I figure the hood light has a gravity switch and the glove box light has a switch activated by opening the glove box. I tested the voltage for the leads to both of those and got something tiny, less than 1v.
Browsing through wiring diagrams now... Not much luck yet.
By the way, here is the instrument panel. I kept the red indicators with their incandescent bulbs. The LEDs made them look a bit pink.
Got my bulbs off of Amazon. The instrument cluster uses 7 of the first and 8 +/- 1 of the second.
7 of these in the instrument panel, 2 for the gear/4wd shifters, and 1 in the glove box.
8+/-1 of these in the instrument panel, 1 for the key illumination, 1 for the cigarette lighter, and 1 for the ash tray.
ABS light was flashing when I took the picture. Fully bright it looks like the other yellows. I'll post pictures of the other areas once it is all working!

Can only find the hood light on the wiring diagram, but continuity checks seem to indicate they are all on the same fuse and that there is a short somewhere...
Took everything apart, tested it, put it back together, and now the glove box and hood lights work. Not really sure why. The hood light needs a new tilt sensor though.
The ignition light and under glove box light have a positive current running through both leads...
