Just take your time with the switch repair, its easy. With my not cleaning the board, and it shorting, I lost the heater controls back-lighting. Yea, its worth a little time and aggravation to save over $80.

I just recently bought a jeep! Make long story short the WAS starting just fine well..thought they had a gas leak, come to find out the fuel pump wasnt all the way in the gas tank! We have that fixed..no leaks! when i go to take off from a complete stop(red light) it sputters bad and wont acculturate! When i shut ignition all the way off, it takes 5 cranks or i have to sit,and wait eventually itll start! Im starting by putting some sea foam.. possibly an fuel filter! but im wondering why this abs light is on could it be fuses?? Cause i see something about a F20 fuse for ignition and start and heater! And its no concidence my heater dont work! I need help!

Hoy Aszree! I too am new to Jeep ownership, and finding all kinds of things on my '97 Grand Cherokee that need attention. Yesterday it was the muffler. It sounds like you have several things on your ZJ you should research in the site's archives and post a thread addressing each problem. I needed a little guidance navigating the site. Take your time, and you'll find many will help if the questions are in the right catagory.

This is gonna suck way more than the headlight switch. And take it from my experience, it may not fix anything. I was severely upset when I reinstalled the VIC, and still got those messages. My taillight does have a bad connection on one of the 194a side marker built into the taillight. Easiest to just remove the VIC and replace with a switch panel. Lights etc.

If you do get lucky and it works be sure to share.

also, I didn't see dave1123 post it. The manual he's talking about is incredible.

Pacificcoastmanuals.com

$7.99 for a 2300 page manual on your Jeep. Its crazy how much info is in there. Everything is a clickable link. So you don't have to scroll to find what you want.

I'm still new to this vehicle. Are you saying that we can eliminate that Vic, and replace it with something else instead?
