Mass Air Flow Meter
Is the ZJ fitted with an air flow meter ?. I notice that the air filter seems to go directly to the Throttle Body !.
My mechanical knowledge is - I admit fairly limited but I thought the meter was a main part of a petrol fuel injection system

Not a Mass Air Flow sensor, but a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. Uses manifold vacuum instead of air flow to determine how much load is on the engine.

I have a can of stuff that cleans the injectors valves etc, you have to disconnect the air flow meter before you use it.
When I disconnected the one on my Jag the engine cut out so I couldn't use it.
I'll try it on the GC later on.

I sprayed the can into the engine without any problem, time will tell if fuel economy improves as claimed

Don't hold your breath. I jumped a full 1mpg just by lowering my average speed to 65 instead of 70 on the highway. I started out at 15mpg when I first got my 95ZJ. I swapped the injectors out for some Neon 703sand it jumped up to 17.5. Did a complete tune up with new filters, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and changed the oil to 10w40. I also removed the cross bars from the roof rack, and removed the POS 2"spacer lift. The best I've recorded since all of that was 19.1mpg
