Where and how do I pour the motor oil after and oil change? there is an opening on the top of the cover but it does not let any oil to the motor. Any help out there? Thanks

The oil fill cap in the center of the valve cover is two pieces so it can ratchet instead of over tightening. Eventually they break and the top part comes off leaving this

Use a pair of channel locks or whatever to remove, it's just a threaded cap.

Edit: didn't notice this was in gc tech. Above applies to a 4.0

I had the ratchet break on my oil cap recently, I cleaned up the pieces and put the cap together with JB Weld. It works just fine without the ratchet. Amazing what you can fix with JB Weld.

That's one of those things where a new one is in order instead of JB Weld they are cheap lol.

Amazingly, the one on my 2000 4.0 is from a 95 XJ that I got for $1 at the Pick&Pull. They must be using cheaper plastic on the newer ones.
