My $300 93 ZJ 4.0 has issues! HELP!
My fixit list grows daily...
Somedays I think I should call it my fukit list lol
1.)Leaks rain on my feet while driving. I located drains and cleaned them -still washes my toes!
2.)Blower motor and fan work, but NO AIR COMES THROUGH ANY VENT.
3.)*This is the worst.... She stalls out any.time.I.Drive. changed fuel pump. Cleaned throttle body and IAC etc... she still stalls. *sigh*

2) vacuum supply to heater?
3) Crankshaft Position Sensor?

crankshaft position sensor is my guess, but unfortunately life is in the way of checking everything out...

What part of the big island are you near. I know 2 guys in Leilani Estates that were filming the eruption in their backyards! They're not car guys though.
If you have any electrical knowledge, you can test the CkPS for a pulse signal. It has a 5 volt supply and one wire should show a pulsing output when the crank is turning.

I am able to fix my ZJ myself, if I have the source of the problem(s) There isn't enough hours in the day for me to keep checking out/researching every little problem, that's why I posted here! Aloha!

I live in a rain forest in Hawaii and wear slippers (flipflops to you Mainlanders)! Last time I drove her, there was a steady stream of water washing my right foot! It came through right below the dash. That involved over an hour of shop vac time lol

Remove the cowl strip that covers the windshield wiper motor and see if there is a cracked weld where water can enter from. It's either that or the glass seal is broken.
My friends live about a mile or so north of Fissure 8. Apau Hawai'i Tours and Doing Hawai'i. Scott and Charles. We've never met, but I followed them and commented/e-mailed the whole time. Charles just got his drone license and I wish he'd had it during the eruption.

No more stalling out on 93 ZJ! Fixed!!
Aloha and thank you folks for all your input! My '93 zj no longer stalls out!
Crankshaft position sensor replaced. She runs like a charm now!
Don't laugh when I tell you that removing the 2 bolts on the old cps and replacing the new one and it's 2 bolts took me over 2 hours-the location of the cps is in a real humdinger effin bad tight effin location.
Add to that what I thought was an old wasp nest *it wasn't, I got stung 3 times* and an injection of epinephrine that literally saved my life.
But...she runs on, like a woman who can't stop talking! hahaha no offense being thrown. I happen to be a woman.
So with that being said, much mahalos again and my fix-it list grows smaller, for now!

Yeah, that CkPS is a real PITA to change! We did it on a lift by dropping the trans crossmember down on jacks to be able to gain enough room to slide an arm up between the floorpan and the transmission. My Grand Cherokee shifts the t/case by cable so there was no linkage to mess with.
Yes, I work with 2 women who are "motormouths!" LOL! No offense meant either. It's just tough to end a conversation with them. One of them caught me at my mailbox one day and stopped to say "hi". Her husband kept saying "We've got to go" and eventually put the car in gear and started moving!

*sigh*
